Shaver Lake Weekend

A few weeks ago we went up to Shaver Lake to spend the night in the snow! We stayed at a funky hotel called the Shaver Lake Village Hotel.
This was our cute little cabin. It was actully really nice inside, it had a big flat screen TV and a great cozy fireplace!

We did not have any sleds so we just slid down on our bootties! It was actually really fun! Alana was really brave and slid down some big hills!

It was cold and wet, but the weather was beautiful! We had a great time, it was fun to visit and then head home towards the beach!

A Quick Catch Up

So I guess I have a little catching up to do! It has been over a month since I have posted! I have been super busy! The holidays were crazy, but things are starting to settle down and get we are comfortable getting into a new routine in a new year! I am going to give a quick update of our holiday season just to catch you up to date!

Towards the middle of December there is a Christamas event in Paso called the Vine Street Christmas Showcase. They close the street and all the houses are decorated and have different stuff going on. There is music, Santa, Frosty, and the most visited Scrooge. The main event for us was Alana doing her first dance performance with her dance class. She did perfect and they were all adorable! I have it on video and will post this later, you must see it!

We decided to have some of our close friends and family over for a Christmas
get together. Everyone brought an appitizer and we did a gift exchange. It was alot of fun!

The kids did Gingerbread Houses, these are the finished products! Yummy!

We did our traditional Christmas Eve at Mary and Shelly's. Complete with Pizza, Wine, and of course presents!

We did Christmas morning at our house. Santa was good to the kids and there were plenty of gifts to unwrap!

Christmas afternoon we went to my Mom and Dad's and did Christmas dinner and exchanged gifts.

New Years Eve found us at home! Arnold BBQ'd up a Rib Eye and we had a delicious meal!

We had some fireworks that we had bought around the 4th of July so we figured it would be a good time to use them!
